curculigo orchioides is a herb common in India It is found in many parts of the world, like Australia, China, and Japan.
This plant is a member of Amaryllidaceae plant family.
This is a perennial herb with underground rootstocks. The leaves are radical and
glabrescent. The flowers are golden yellow, about 1 cm. across in small racemes. The capsules are beaked. The seeds are subglobose, black and
strongly rugose. The flowering season is June to September.
Usage:
In Ayurveda the roots are used for treatment of general debility, jaundice, colic and are good aphrodite. The
roots have good hepatoprotective action.
