Amoranthus polygamus is found in India . T

This herb is a member of Meliaceae plant family.

This is a big tree. The young parts are silky. The leaves are very big, large about 3 feet. Leaflets are opposite and 4-8 into pairs. Elliptic- oblong. Male Flowers bloom in july to september.The flowers are numerous, in large pennicles, bracts beneath each flower. Female flowers are larger than male flowers. Fruit are yellow when ripe. seeds are oblong.

Usage:

The plant specially the bark is used as astringent and applied on swelling after a fall. In recent times anti carcinogenic ingredients are found from this plant.
