This is a deciduous tree. This tree grows to a height of about 8 to 20 metres. The bark is grey or light black, and longitudinally fissured. The leaves are broadly ovate to sub orbicular, oppressed pubescent from the beneath. The flowers are yellow, globose and in axillary head. The capsules are obconical and pubescent. The The seeds are about 6 in each coccus, oblong, brown, minutely hairy.and winged. The flowering season July to December.
Usage:
In Ayurveda the bark is used as fabrifuge & antiseptic.
